Vlookup with condidion

HI Team
Pls help to make a vlookup with condition as explained below.

Data reference as below

Column A Column B Colum C
X1 15-Aug Y1
X2 20-Aug Z1
X3 25-Aug B1
X1 20-Aug Z1
X1 22-Aug K1


Now i want to do VLookup from other worksheet for colum A value . In above table , for X1 - there are 3 dates in column B - 15th Aug, 20th Aug, 22-Aug.

While vlookup i want to return the value from Column C with latest date in Column B for X1 ... i.e , For X1- the latest date is 22-Aug and the corresponding Column C value is K1 .. I need this "K1" data to be returned in Vlookup.



Pls help if any option .

I dont think VLOOKUP will work. Even getting the max date would require array formula. I feel your best bet is to create a custom function
