PHONES disconnect when modem is plugged in

Hello,
Have Centurytel DSL. Using an Actiontec C1000 modem/router.
Phones work fine until the modem is plugged in...then no power, no signal to phone line. Internet works fine, no problem. Unplug the modem...phones come back?!?
Have filters on the phones...no filter on the modem.
Also when the modem is plugged in and working I plugged a phone into the PHONE jack on the modem...No Joy, no power, no signal.
I am totally lost on this one.....


System Configuration: Windows / Chrome 85.0.4183.102

You can disable this feature in your Android device by looking under the Advanced Wi-Fi settings for the option that allows the Android device to automatically switch away from a wireless network if it thinks the network is bad. ... Auto Network Switch.
