Usb cable shuts down my laptop

Hello, i tried to send videos from my phone to my laptop but as soon as i connect the usb cable, my laptop shutdown. Have tried restarting it but the screen wont come on tho i can hear it come on but the screen wont come on. Have tried rebooting it by disconnecting the battery and hard drive but it still doesn't work. Please i need a solution!



System Configuration: Android / Chrome 69.0.3497.100

Both the USB cable and USB port can possible cause the problem, you can firstly try with another usb cable to see if it fixes the issue, otherwise try to reset the USB port as following.

While it is tough to conclude on the exact cause, you can troubleshoot the issue step by step isolating each possibility at every level. In case the issue is with the internal hardware, you might have to send the system to a hardware technician.

1] Update the USB Drivers
2] Check the external devices connected to the USB slots
3] Run Troubleshooters
4] Disable the USB ports
5] Change the power supply unit
6] Check the USB connectors
