If you're running Office 2003 (I don't know if this works for 2007), you can set it up so that Alt+m will merge your selected cells:

1. Choose 'Tools'
2. Choose 'Customize'
3. Right click on your merge and centre icon on the toolbar at the top of your screen
4. Click 'Image and Text'
5. Close the Customize window

The shortcut Alt+m should now work.

It seems silly that this works, but it's a godsend for me.

Hello Rossdavid

Make a macro with your own shortcut key and with code

sub macroMergeCells()
Selection.MergeCells = True
End sub
I know little about excel and I have to merge columns labeled : Name - . - Last Name - @csan.com
into one column so I can create an email group for Outlook 2007.

Is there An easy way for a NOVICE like me to do this? There are 3k rows on this Excel sheet. I use Excel 2007

Thank you so much!!!

There is a short cut for this in the tab menu, it's call merge and center, select the cells you want to merge and just click on it :)
