Computer will not let me open downlad program

Hello,

I am having a problem with with software i download or update. I am currently running my weekly update checks, i tried to update my eusing free registry cleaner today and the computer is aking my to choose an application to open it with, i have tried everything but it will not let me open update, i also tried to download PC wizard to check for any problems after this and it asked me the exact same question, the files are downloading ok but it will not run them for me. I have a good understanding of my computer and how it works as i buy computer magazines weekly. But this problem has my beat, can anybody help me.

I am using windows vista home premium and my laptop is an asus x53series.

IF you are using Vista,

I will advise you to upgrade to service pack 1,

This will fix all the bugs

The problem has been sorted, windows installed the update last night, and the problem has went away. Thank you fcconflict

I am still having the problem, i downloaded service pack, but i am still being asked to choose an application to run it with, it is geting very anoying.
