Hello,

I recently downgraded to Windows XP Professional and have all needed drivers but the audio ones. The soundcard is a stock onboard soundcard, but I cant seem to find a solution or drivers that work for the Windows XP OS with this laptop...

Exact specs can be found here: https://www.newegg.com/hp-pavilion-dv2990nr/p/N82E16834147741

Thanks in advance.

To download the audio drivers just click here:

Thanks

I tried the download and got the message "Driver Installation Failed:Could find the MEDIA device for this driver." I presume this means there is a hardware problem, right?

of course I had to download a bunch of HP crap that I will live to regret to find that out. Another reason why this is the last HP product I will buy.

I tried that. There's no audio driver download for Windows XP. Only one is for Vista...

# Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic 32 Edition
# Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Edition
# Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64 Edition
# Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate 64 Edition

Which I've tried also, anyone have anything else? Thanks for trying though :)
