DVD/CD ROMs in my Dimension E521 not working

I installed a new multi-function printer to my computer last month - I had to search for the driver and was able to get it from a British Lexmark source. About a week later I noticed a CD I wanted to play wouldn't. Another 2 weeks went by before I noticed no CD's would play. I looked under device manager and both of the drives have yellow exclamation points so I know they know they are not working. I have tried uninstalling them and reinstalling them as advised in help, but it doesn't work - any suggestions? I bought a new computer but I am reluctant to set it up until I can transfer my info - I am thinking that CD's will be the easiest thing for me to use - any other suggestions there? the yellow question mark means that you do not have the driver installed.

try this link to get the driver, download and install it:


this should fix your problem.
