Wireless card or connection not found

Hello,
I have a laptop that had Windows Xp on it and it crashed. I reinstalled Windows XP. Simple right, welll that's what I thought. Now I can't locate on the computer anywhere my wireless card and the computer does not connect to my wireless modem. All other computers are working fine. 1 other thing, now when I start this computer, it ask me for an HDD password. The wireless card I am using is an Intel Proset I believe. Do I need to format and reinstall again, or do I have other issues?
