Missing low sound

Hello,

My computer has recently lost low wave sound (i.e. its making everything sound like Alvin and the Chipmunks). The sound has been lost across the whole use of my computer and is also effecting head phones as well as my standard speaker. including using the internet and offline software. I think this may be cause by some form of virus. Any help on how to solve this problem (driver re installation, settings adjustment) would be appreciated.

Dear Sir,

I will advise you to uninstall your sound driver and install it again!


You will have to use your driver cd!

Thank you for your help.
I found out the problem,
A member of my family had been on the sound effects application and changed the pitch.
