Password question

Hello,

I set up a peer to peer network between an xp home machine and a vista machine. The only way i could get it to work is if I put a password on the vista machine......does that sound correct....Both machines have the same profile name and workgroup name. I don't want a password on the vista machine....

Also, do i really have to take down the windows firewall to make this happen...please let me know!!!!
