Trying to repair xp from disc

Hello, I was attempting to repair my windows XP from disc by utilizing these most wonderful instructions found here: http://michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm#RI. Everything was going along just fantastically until between steps 4 and 5. It said it was searching for other XP installations and instead of giving me a list of them it went to a list of partitions. The instructions say its supposed to give me a list from which i can select my version of windows and repair it. So is it not detecting my version of windows? Or am i supposed to do something with that list of partitions? I thank you in advance for your helpful replies.
