Do i have the product key?

if my laptop came with microsoft office installed, how do i find the product key? is what i'm using only a trial version or should the number be in the papers that came with the computer?
and if i can't find it, what do i do?

Most likely you have a trial version since a full product costs between $200 and $400. Open Word and go to the "About" or "help" tab. It should tell you what version you have.

My sister had a preloaded trial version of Office Home and Student. They wanted more to activate that copy than to buy and a new copy of Home and Student at Office Depot (on sale with rebate).

If you find that you have a valid activated version of Office. You can download a copy of Belarc Advisor off the internet. It will find and display the keys for all your Microsoft products.
