Transfer files from vista laptop to vista pc

Hello,
I would like to know how to transfer my files from my vista laptop to my vista pc with the use of an usb cable. Does this process require a disc?

hi there,

ts not possible by usb

but via cross cable you can do it

and you must assign both an ip address
