Using my laptops wireless 4 internet on my PC

Hello,
my laptop runs windows xp and connects to the internet via a wireless router.
I've been trying to set up my PC which runs Ubuntu Linux 9.04 to connect to my laptop via an internet cable to try and get internet on my PC from my laptop,
any help,

I don't think you can do it that way. two completely different operating systems. to share internet connection on your laptop you are going to need an operating system that is at least microsoft.
are you unable to connect to your router wired? does your router have any lan ports free?
