Hello,

I AM TRYING TO RESTORE MY TOSHIBA L300 LAPTOP BACK TO FACTORY SETTINGS. I HAVE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS LISTED ON THIS WEB PAGE, HOW EVER I CAN ONLY SEEM TO GET AS FAR AS THE SELECTING ENTER ON THE "REPAIR YOUR COMPUTER". IT THEN COMES UP WITH A LOADING BAR. AFTER THIS THE SCREEN TURNS TO A GREY BACK GROUND WITH A MESSAGE SAYING UNABLE TO LOAD PRESS ENTER TO TURN OFF, THIS IS THE ONLY THING I CAN DO. I CANT EVEN GET THE OPTION LIST UP THAT GIVES YOU THE OPTION TO RESTORE. I DO NOT HAVE ANY OF THE SUPPORT DISCS. CAN ANY ONE SHED ANY LIGHT ON MY PROBLEM?????

if you go to the following link, it will enable you to download the L300 series manual (unless you already have it. it will be on a cd that was shipped with your laptop.) click on the users guide tab. it will comence to download a pdf file. (you will need acrobat reader to open file)

http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=SB&os=&category=&moid=2041070&rpn=PSLB1U&modelFilter=L300-EZ1004V&selCategory=3&selFamily=1073768667

the information you require is listed on page 62 ( or around that page if you have an earlier or later edition)

you are looking for the section that begins 'HARD DISK DRIVE RECOVERY USING THE RECOVERY PARTITION'

it goes through the process explaining what you need to do.

note - ** This assumes that you still have the recovery partition and have not wiped your hdd and installed a fresh operating system.
