Hello,
presently vista is install on my laptop. now i want to install xp . when i put the cd of xp in cd rom. after some process there shows a blue screen with a error:- this says that"

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

check for viruses on your computer. remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. check your hard drive to make sure it it properly configured and terminated. run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

Technical information:

*** STOP: 0x0000007e (0xf78e2524, 0xc0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
So, that's the error message who came up every time I start my computer.
So, it doesn't finish the installation because this error appear.

please tell me what should i do?
i look forward to hear from you soon.

hi there,

If you have Windows Vista and want to downgrade to XP,

You will have to change the SATA configurations in your BIOS settings,

Press F2 or DEL button and then look for SATA configurations change from AHCI to IDE

or on start up follow the key displayed for setup

Thanks
