Setting up wireless

Hello,
I have DSL modem connected to desktop pc through USB port. I want to set-up wireless internet so my laptop can use my DSL connection, but I would still like to maintain direct connection to DSL modem with desktop pc.

What do I need in terms of hardware to do this?

You have to make your modem pass through a wireless router so as to get connection on your laptop and plugin the cable from your pc to the router to get the same configuration.
