Asus dvd witter not working Closed

Hello, friends,
  I have ASUS DVD writter. It working fine till last month. Then i reinstall my window and everything running good. But when I insert the CD in the my ASUS dvd writter it don't not detect it. So after so much trying I decided to open my dvd writter and clean it very carefully. then I close and even I have the same problem. Anybody please help to figure out the problem. Is my dvd writter is now totally useless or any possibilities of repairing it.

Please help me. I need it.

Hello there,

You can check the DVD writer's cables if connected correctly and also check on your BIOS!

May be the cable is faulty and you will need to change the IDE cable
