Crossover and straight cables

Hello,
Please, I want to know the basic differnce between crossover cable and straight cable. I saw a material that said crossover cable can be used to connect router LAN to switch/hub and straight cable can also be used to connect router LAN to switch/hub so am confused. I need a clarification. Thank you.

Just Google crossover cable or search this forum for the answer. I see 6 answers listed on this forum.

Straight cable is using to connect difeerent devises such ads router&switch,switch&pc Etc.Cross is using for connecting same devises such as pc&pc,switch&switch Etc.
But the rolled over cable is using to connect pc from routers console port.
