Help with re-arranging furniture

When I buy new furniture, it gives me the option as to where I want the new furniture put in my house. But I have no idea how to get rid of the old furniture...now I have two beds, two couches, two tv's and my house is a mess!! How do I get rid of the old furniture and re-arrange the new furniture into the places I want them.
