Hello,

I want to know when considering the purchase of a new operating system, what is meant by "Total Cost of Ownership?"

Is it the applications and support costs ?
the hardware and support costs 
the hardware and software costs 
the hardware, software, and support costs 
the hardware, operating system, and applications costs

Thanks for your time :)

Hi,

At Citrix we use to say that the Total Cost Of Ownership is the sum of all the data processing costs regarding an employee to do his job. What that means :
At the employee level : all the costs ; computer, operating system, network, applications and of course all maintenance for HW & SW

Thanks for your help, I think that in this case, they are talking about the applications and support costs because we are treating with the TCO of a new operating system, so no hardware !

Good night :)
