Before we go go to the solution..lets know what exactly
is this Conficker worm and what makes it so dangerous
and our systems vurable to it
conficker worm what can alter your data files eg,if a
hospital database is infected,,, it will rechedule the
operations timing , dates, patient details, the
medication, the reports, and what makes things worse is
that this worm not only keeps updating itself with new
variants but also steals data from ur pc eg details of
all ur drivers, hardware, os, keystokes, passwords, user
account etct... imagine what would happen if thiis would
fall in the wrong hands.. ;(
The virus, however, failed to break through the
computers being regularly updated with the latest
updates of Windows operating systems and Anti Virus
This worm only affects Windows and has no effect on Mac
OS X.
another feature of the Conficker worm that provides an
additional clue about the intention of its
creators....the worm installs malware that masquerades
as antivirus software and fetures a widow that states it is downloading a
program called "Spyware Protect 2009" and at the
background it displays warning messages saying that the
computer is infected and offering to clean it up for $49.95
The affected computers experience issues like slow
browsing and no browsing. The virus also restricts
access to websites that can help in the removal of the
software.
the common symptoms of the infected computers are as
follows:
•Locking you out of user accounts
•Creating and scheduling tasks on your system.
•Denying you access to files.
•Disabling your browser from visiting security sites.
•Showing signs of slow local area network or internet
connections.
now the solution to it
removing Conficker Worm new specialized tools developed
for this purpose like free tool such as X-Wire
Technology's "Tizer Conficker Razor" is the best option.
here a link to it,, scroll down and click the OS to the
http://www.tizersecure.com/downloadConficker.php
one you use eg, xp or vista
delete the files when found
ur problem should be solved
<gras>Note: like I said it will sheild ur computer from these sites.. i.e. it will block all sites that have a solution to this problem..
so download it from some other pc
and get in pasted on the infected pc via usb </gras>

Just last week a friend of mine had the very same problem.
Here is tool to remove Conficker:
http://download.cnet.com/Conficker-Removal-Tool/3000-2239_4-10911447.html
If you wish to remove any traces left, I suggest running Malwarebyte.
Download, install and update it. Be sure to request a full system scan.
https://ccm.net/downloads/security-and-maintenance/4621-malwarebytes-anti-malware/
Once your computer is clean and working normally just to be on the safe side
•Turn off system restore and wait 30 seconds,
•Turn it back on and create a new restore point.
This way it gets rid of anything bad that might have gotten saved in a restore point and you have a clean restore point to use in the near future if needed.
Do not turn it off until your computer is clean and working normally because you might need to use it if something goes wrong during the clean-up process.
It is better to go back to an infected restore point if something goes wrong then to not be able to undo changes that were damaging.
Did you know that all of your network is being used by conficker to distribute malware, that is why it is disturbing and consuming RAM.
