Doc extension files

Hello,


I am using office 2003 and was facing problem with all Doc extension files.

whenever i used to double click a doc file it opens in word pad or notepad.

If i do right click and select winword from the program it keeps opening in word and notepad.
but i never see winword in the program list.

i have uninstalled Office 2003 and installed Office 2007
but my problem remains the same.

The only way i can open this file is open Winword file and then open the file from the file menu.

Can somebody help me.

Have you tried to change the default program?

go to START - click on Default Programs
select Associate a file type
scroll down to .doc and select it and click on the change program button
It should have a recommended program of Microsoft Office Word - click on it and then click on OK
If Word does not shol as a re3commended of alternate program use the Browse button and navigate to the Word program.
