It's defiantly not a corrupt iso file, just made another and tested it, tests fails at the same point, when trying to write the leadin. As soon as that was done I wrote a few individual files to the very same disk and that worked perfectly.
EDIT - Figured it out, have no idea why it works like this but it does. Using DVD+R, write to the Memorex DVD's in test mode (Imataion DVD+R's will not work like this). ImgBurn will prompt saying that it can not perform the test on DVD+R do you want it to continue. I selected yes and it burns the image to the disk in test mode and it works.
