I need help installing my external dvd drive

Hello,
im having travel installing my dvd external drive, its the HL-DT-ST DVD RAM GE20LU10 USB Device, my laptois LGX110, and when i conncet the external drive with my laptop its says there is an error installing the device then i try to reinstall it the same thing happen and I even tried to see if it needs upgrade and install it manually its says Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39). I dont know what is missing and whats wrong?
