I can still see my desktop background but not the icons. I cannot access the internet and when I go to New Task and access the system restore thru, I get the same message over and over again "System Restore Cannot Protect Your Computer Please Restart And Try Again". I've done that many times and it doesn't seem to help at all. If I access my Start Menu thru the Task Manager and I do to System Tools, all I see is an icon that says Internet Explorer (no pop ups)
I am at a loss and I don't know how to restore the system or how to run the antivirus that I have as the computer will not allow me to do so. I can access the antivirus thru New Task - Desktop, but once I click run, nothing happens.
It also says that I am not connected to the internet, so there is no way I can upload a new version of the antivirus.
Thanks a lot for getting back to me. In order to run registry fix, do I need to access the internet??? My computer is not allowing me to access the internet.
