Recover deleted files on my mac Closed

Hello,
I recently had a file deleted with tons of important information in it from my college. I was wondering if anyone knows how to recover them? I don't want to have to pay for a program but I found one for free and I was wondering if I could put it on a usb drive so it doesn't overwrite any memory on my laptop. Can I use my laptop to download it to my usb drive and then run the program from there?

Hey, i have a problem too! I was uploading music on my GSM with USB cable and i delete one folder without i want. Then i look to the recycle bin on the desktop, but the files were not there. I wonder how can i find them. It's important! Please help!
