use the cross over cable connection...
specify the ip address, gateway of the two pc's and also the workgroup should be the same.

its a cross cable
you must make a cross cable for this and the connections are as in pic below:

then assign an ip address to both of then and transfer your files

and lastly you have to make a file sharing so that you can copy the files from the other pc.
