Hello,
I have a sony vio laptop that contains a lot of important data in its hard drive, but when i turn it on the operating system doesn't come up and there is an error which says " Windows XP could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \windows\system32\config\system . Now i don't really wanna get involve in recovering the data through window recovery because I think that would be too risky to do so because of the possibility of the data lost. I just wanted to know if I can transfer the data from my laptop (hard drive) to another laptop with a cable or something since I can not reach the os.

thank you for your time.
