When i try and do an install i get a blue

Hello,
I have a dell laptop running windows xp pro, and when i try and install anything i get a blue screen flash on screen then my laptop restarts it happens when i install via cd rom and usb could anyone help please

Try to do a system restore to the last date known the computer was running well.
