My sims three game won't work

Hello,
My sims 3 game worked fine when downloading....however when I try to play it the update screen with all the options and the play button comes up and I click on the button and it says "This game cannot play on your PC maybe it is because its graphics are to good." so then I tried all I could and now the button window doesn't even come up any more please help!
