Video card installation problem

Hello,

My best friend just bought a video card and wants to install it on his pc. However, he is currently using integrated graphics we don't really know how to install the video card on this type of system. What must we do next?

You install the drivers and is it the correct card (i.e. AGP, or PCIE)?
