Hello,
I am trying to connect a laptop to an existing wireless network. The prompt asks for a "network security key". I don't know what this is. What should I do? Thanks, Geri

If you have a computer that is connected you can use this software to display the key.

https://download.cnet.com/s/wirelesskeyview/

Otherwise you can reset the router to its defaults ( use the reset switch in the hole on the back) and then set a password.

Good Luck

This is wireless encryption key that you set on wireless router. If you can access to wireless router's management page, then you should be able to find it under wireless setting. You can also take a look on this wireless router configuration in order to know more.

usually the default username is admin and the passkey is admin also inorder to access the wireless router admin page, but you need also to check the router manual, if your tryin to access wireless router from somewhere then you need to know the passkey ask the owner or admin to configure the proper encrypted passkey.
