Combining the If and Max function

Hello,
I have a range of cells that have conditional formatting based on the MAX function. In other words I used the MAX function to find the highest number and then highlight that cell.

Now what I need to do is create a formula that will look at the result of the MAX function and return the column label for that cell location. Since the highlighted cell will change as numbers are calculated so will the column label headings and I need a formula that will change with the results of the MAX function.

An IF function wouldn't work because there are too many arguments and I can't think of what would work for me.

Please help!
