WD 1TB HD S.M.A.R.T ERROR

Hello,
My WD 1TB HDD USB 2.0 is not mounting on desktop its showing S.M.A.R.T error. I format HD but same error message is coming.

I am using mac G4

S.M.A.R.T errors normally signal a hardware/firmware error within the hard drive. Perhaps a replacement is needed.
