Dell laptop issue

Hello,
I have a dell laptop and shortly after i boot it up, it starts doing funny stuff. For example, when I right click on any icon to go to properties, the window will open for a split sencond then disappear. Also when I click on the start buttom, the same thing happens. It acts the same wheather you are using the on board mouse pad or external mouse.
