Help me to connect 2 computer

Hello,i have a problem!!we have 2 computers and i wanna make connection with them BOTH are laptops and useing windows xp proffesonal or samthing. BUt i have connected with him i can see his files but he can t see my computer because it say that he can t watch my files because its blocked. how can i put that on for he can see my files ???O: please help me ..
