Computer and printer won't work together

Hello,
I tried to turn my All-in-one printer off but it didn't go off. I tried to get it to respond by exploring the options on the little screen but nothing worked. I finally unplugged it. When I turned it back on it went through the "Don't disturb ..." and the reset process. However, since then I can't send anything to the printer from the cvomputer to be printed. It's just dead. It won't scan. It does print if I put something on the glass and push print.
I was told by Staples to try reinstalling the disk that came with the printer. Problem is, I can't find it anywhere. Can I obtain a new one? If not, what can I do?
