No picture or sound when i connect my hdmi

Hello,
I have my laptop hooked up to my HDTV with an HDMI Cable.
but it wont work
do i have to set it up if so how

Dear Jeff,

Please check whether its drivers have been installed. This might be the source of the problem that you are having.
