PC doesn't recongnise any USB

Hello,
First of all, sorry for my mistakes, English is not my native language.
Well I have a big problem and I really need help. I tried to plug in my external hard drive on my laptop but it didn't recognise it so I plugged it on my bf's pc and it didn't recognise it as well. The problem is that now, the pc won't recognise any device. It doesnt recognise my bf's ext hard drive, mp3 player, camera etc... He tried to plug them on different usb (front and back of the pc) but nothing works...i really need your help because he is really angry with me :(

After plugging in the device. Go to device manager (In run type "devmgmt.msc") In Device manager go to "Universal serial bus controllers" It should list the storage devices that you have connected to your PC. Right click and then click "Uninstall. Remove the USB drive and restart your system.
Try connecting the device again, i think this should solve the problem.
