My USB speakers (HP mini) has stopped working

Hi all,

i don't know what happened but my headset speakers (connected to usb) suddenly stopped working. I can only listen to youtube for example, using the built-in speakers in my laptop.

I tested the usb with another headset and it won't work as well, so i'm guessing it's the usb (or the drivers?). i wish i could just ditch the usb, but i want to use both the mic and the earphone at the same time (i'm using hp mini).

i've searched the Internet high and low but no luck so far.. please help.
