I too had trouble with this, where I tried un-installing and re-installing several occasions, as this was the advise I could find off blogs. I also tried installing Seamonkey, as someone had suggested this as a fix also. In the end I just upgraded the OS from 9.04 to 9.10. This fixed the problem. I did not have any trouble having to re-install the flash player. I think it was a system error with the 9.04 OS system
