Question

I installed windows xp prof. on new hard drive and new mother board  all is fine except I have no sound and my audio devices adjustments are all turn off or dead , I also dont have the little volume icon on header bar any help I would be grateful ,  I have had no luck with down loading drivers they say they are installed but dont work  thanks bob borum

Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 3.6.3

Dear Sir, 

Please get to the Sound and Audio Properties in the Control Panel and in the Volume tab, please check the feature to indicate the volume control in the task bar and hence get the problem solved.

don't trust them, please download or update your audio driver software,I think that the current driver don't adapt to your audio hardware.so try it to get the problem solved.
