No tasks?

hi..
i can see my start button and the taskbar..but i dont see the windows that i have opened..
or the tasks that i am using...even if i minimize it, i still cant open it back unless i use the task manager..

how can i see the tasks or the windows back again?
please help me

once keep the OS cd and repair it
