Computer wont read cd drive or start discs!

Hi,
My computer wont read from the cd drive, so cant use any cd software.
My virus checker quarantined 'autorun.ini' about four times and now cd wont read.
It opens the drive window but there is nothing in it and it wont start my software cd's.
Or any cd's!! Anyone able to help?

Dear Sir,

This should be occurring for the fact that the lens has been damaged. Please consider changing it to have the problem fixed.
