i have a cameraand wasntsure how to use it properly had taken photos and it said format i pressed yes and now the photos are gone is there any way of retrievnig them..:(

are the photos on a memory card like an sd card or compact flash?

if so, then yes, as long as you do not use that card to take more pictures.

you need to be able to connect it to your computer.

there is software on the net that can retrieve photos from memory cards.
