plaese someone help.i turn on my laptop to a black screen which asks if i want to start windows normally or do a startup repair.if i start it normally it goes to the repair screen anyway.it says it's checking for problems but it doesn't do anything except endless checking.i tried pressing f8 to resore it to the last safe point but it didn't work.now when i turn it on it i get the start up page but f8 has gone to be replaced by f12!someone please help or it's going out the bloody window!

Hello,

Please attempt a chkdsk or sfc/scannow from command prompt.

Let me know if that works.

Regards

P.S. Did you get a virus?

Hello Munch, (You can call me Ambucias instead of "there":)))

You do not lose any data with chkdsk or sfc/scannow, those are repair tools before we can look for any viruses.
