Weird LG DVD-RW mystery

Hello,



Recently i removed old thermal paste from my GPU, CPU, north and south bridges and applyed new thermal paste.... everything went well and my PC started up normally. I then went to my computer and saw that my LG DVD-RW had changed to a BD-ROM... how did this happen? and whats a BD-ROM?
