Can you give a little more detail Does it boot to windows and then turn off.

no, it doesnt go to windows. nothing shows on screen. it just runs then cuts off, and so on. It will come on if I let it sit for a few hours.

Not come across this before!
Try removing battery and AC Adapter press start button for about 10sec reconnect the battery and no AC Adapter and switch on. Then try without the battery but with the AC Adapter connected. If this does not work remove the mobo battery for about 30mins then reconnect. Mobo batt is normally under the panel above the keyboard
