Computer restarting

Hello, I have a dv6000 series computer. I shut it down two days ago just by pushing the power button, but I dont think that that would do anything to the computer. When I got home today, I tried to turn the computer on and it was booting up like it was going to start up but it never did. The fan was running and the lights came on but, it was a black screen and the keyboard and the mouse was not working. I don't know what is wrong with it. I just got a virus removed from my computer a year ago and an antivirus installed. What could be wrong with it??? Thanks
